In support of students during the upcoming examination period, all University of Rwanda campus libraries will extend their operating hours starting May 15 through June 30, 2025.
The University of Rwanda Library Services is committed to providing students with optimal study conditions during the critical exam period. Understanding the need for extended access to library resources and quiet study spaces, we are pleased to announce that all nine campus libraries will operate with extended hours, opening earlier and closing later to accommodate diverse study schedules.
📚 Extended Hours Schedule
During the examination period, all campus libraries will operate on the following extended schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM (previously 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
- Saturday: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM (previously 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Sunday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM (previously 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
- 24-Hour Study Areas: Available at Gikondo and Nyarugenge campuses

Designated silent study floors available at main campus libraries

📋 Important Guidelines
To ensure a conducive study environment for all during the exam period, please observe the following guidelines:
- Silent Study Floors: Designated silent areas must remain completely quiet
- Group Study: Use booked group study rooms for discussions
- Food & Drink: Only covered drinks allowed in study areas
- Personal Belongings: Do not leave items unattended
- Library Cards: Bring your ID card for after-hours access
📍 24-Hour Study Locations
The following campuses offer dedicated 24-hour study areas during the exam period:
Gikondo Campus
Location: Ground Floor, Main Library Building
Capacity: 150 seats
Amenities: Wi-Fi, power outlets, vending machines
Nyarugenge Campus
Location: CST Library, 2nd Floor
Capacity: 120 seats
Amenities: Wi-Fi, power outlets, study carrels
