The University of Rwanda Library Services (URLS), which was founded in 2013 when seven publically funded institutions
were merged to form the University of Rwanda is the biggest University Library in Rwanda. URLS aspires to grow into one
of the top academic research libraries on the African continent. It is committed to providing the highest level of service,
access, and instruction services that meet the curricular, research, professional, intellectual, creative, and personal needs
of the University of Rwanda community. The URLS also provides an online Digital Repository which can be accessed
at dr.ur.ac.rw. URLS shall make special provisions as needed to permit users with disabilities to access, retrieve and
use resource materials.
The URLS consists of nine main Campus Libraries distributed as follows:
- Gikondo, Remera and Nyarugenge Campuses in Kigali City;
- Huye Campus in the Southern Province;
- Rwamagana, Rukara and Nyagatare Campuses in the Eastern Province;
- Busogo Campus in the Northern Province and Rusizi Campus in the Western Province.
